About
Dr. Rodriguez has been on the faculty of the University of New Orleans since 2021. He received his Ph.D. in International Business with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Texas at El Paso. He holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
He previously taught taxation and cost accounting for five years at Idaho State University, two years at Murray State University, a year at Texas A&M University-Commerce, and taxation for five years at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He has taught taxation for individuals, corporate taxation, sales & local taxation, tax research, auditing, international accounting, financial accounting, and managerial accounting to Bachelors's and Masters's students at six public universities.
Prior to joining academia, Dr. Rodriguez was an accountant from July 1998 through July 2008 at Valero Energy Corporation, Brehm, Havel & Company CPAs, and Fernie R. Aceves CPA. He has performed audits, reviews, and compilations, as well as prepared individual, corporate (C & S), partnership, exempt organization, employment, sales, gift, and fuel tax returns at the Federal and state levels. He has also represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service.
