Service with Jazz recognizes one employee per month who demonstrates a strong work ethic and embodies our university's core values!
Have you witnessed a staff or faculty member consistently going above and beyond their normal job duties? Does this employee show endless commitment and dedication to the University of New Orleans? If so, this employee deserves recognition for their hard work! Staff Council accepts nominations for the Service with Jazz award every month.
All submissions are carefully reviewed by the Staff Council Awards Committee, which includes unclassified staff, classified staff, and faculty representatives.

Eligibility
Eligible
Faculty members, classified employees, and non-classified employees are all eligible for the Service with Jazz award!
Ineligible
Student workers, graduate assistants, and intermittent employees are not eligible.
How to Nominate
Fill out the online nomination form.
Submissions will be accepted throughout each month—then, the Staff Council Awards Committee will select a winner once the month has ended.
You will need to enter the name and contact information for both the nominee and the nominator. Nominations are not anonymous, and the nominees' supervisors will be contacted as part of the selection process.
You will also need to answer the following questions about the candidate:
- Our university's core values include excellence, student success, diversity/equity/inclusion, and innovation/discovery. Please tell us how this individual embodies one or more of these values.
- Please tell us about a time that this individual went above and beyond this month, and why you believe they are deserving of this month's Service with Jazz award.
Please provide specific details! The more you tell us about the nominee, the more confident we will be in our selections!
