Congratulations to Carol Mitton, who has been selected as the January 2015 Employee of the Month.
Carol is a research administrator in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.
“Carol Mitton strives not only to be a good employee in our office, but also to be a proud member of the UNO community who gives back to that community,” said Kenneth Sewell, Vice President for Research. “Last fall, she assisted the Physics department in hosting a state-wide conference for the Louisiana Space Consortium Council.
The meeting was a great success and the Physics chair wrote a glowing letter of appreciation for how professionally the event was run. This fall, she volunteered for the new student move-in and convinced several others in the office to participate. This past month, Carol was instrumental in running UNO first Space Day. Carol has also assisted in managing a grant that our office took on this year, and hosting the stakeholders meeting in support of that grant.”
“No matter the challenge, Carol tackles it with professional gusto and a positive attitude,” Dr. Sewell said. “Someone who consistently goes above and beyond what is asked of her, and who consistently has a great performance record, deserves to be recognized for her efforts. I strongly urge you to select Carol Mitton for this well-deserved award.”
