MICEFA
MICEFA is a non-profit consortium in which most Parisian universities are members. It was created in 1985 in order to promote cultural and scientific cooperation between France and the US.
The mission of the MICEFA/UNO exchange program is to facilitate the exchange of students and faculty. Each year, students are welcomed by MICEFA from UNO and other MICEFA American partners. We offer reciprocal exemption of tuition fees and facilitation of credits.
The many prestigious universties available in Paris, including the Sorbonne, with its various pedagogies, curricula and emphasis on different fields allows MICEFA to offer a wide variety of courses in many different areas of study. MICEFA offers a professional faculty and staff to assist with selection of courses and transfer of credits to UNO and vice versa. Each student recieves much individual attention.
Humanities, social sciences, pre-law, and business are among the fields in which courses are offered. Special programs do exist for medical school, law school and engineering as well. French language and culture courses are also avaialble.
After arrival, MICEFA reviews each student's case very carefully. Based on various factors, such as language proficiency and area of study, the student is assigned by MICEFA to one of the member universities.
Note: French fluency is NOT required. MICEFA also offers French courses at all levels before each semester. Classes are taught in French and English.
