Application Deadlines:

Priority Deadline - January 10, 2025

Final Deadline - February 14, 2025

UNO Students:

Complete an online application.
Upload or send us an unofficial transcript to your application (transcript must show cumulative GPA and entire academic career).

After the designated deadline of the submitted application, it will be reviewed by our office. You will then receive a program offer. If you are admitted, our office will contact you with instructions for making payments to the program. Admitted students will be expected to pay a non-refundable $300.00 deposit a week after acceptance into the program.

If you are put on the waiting list, you will receive an email notification to that effect. If/when space becomes available, we will contact you.

Non-UNO Students:

Complete the Home Campus Information Form (you will upload it to your application).
Complete an online application.
Upload or send us an unofficial transcript to your application (we will be asking for an official transcript later after acceptance). The unofficial transcript needs to show your cumulative GPA and entire academic career.

What's Next:
1. If you don't have a passport, apply for one immediately! And be sure to send us a scan of it once you receive it. Your application will not be delayed if you do not have a passport yet.
2. For our payment schedule and refund policy, please visit our fees page.
3. UNO students: Apply for the Division of International Education Global Ambassador Award! It can be applied towards all summer programs and both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to enter. Awards range in amount from $250 to 1,500. The deadline to apply for Global Ambassador Awards is typically in mid-February every year. We also have national scholarships listed for all students interested. Information about all of these awards and more can be found here.
4. The Pre-departure orientation for students in the New Orleans area will be in mid-April 2025 from 5:30-7:30pm in the UNO International Center (out of town participants will join the meeting via Zoom). Accepted applicants will receive information on the confirmed date.

7. Once you have booked your flight, email us your itinerary at UNOJapan@uno.edu. (Please do not purchase a flight until you have received your program acceptance from our office and have received word from us about program status.)
