Message from the Director

Welcome to the Lester E. Kabacoff School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Administration (HRT). The School has been providing the highest quality education to students for 45 years. The very generous support of Lester E. Kabacoff has enabled us to attract first-class faculty members and remain a leader in the education of our students.

The size of our burgeoning industry will graduate a wide variety of positions and career choices that includes hotels, restaurants, country clubs, conventions centers, contract food services, cruises lines, casinos, resorts, tour operation, travel services, destination management, CVBs, as well as tourism-related transportation, planning, and administration. We are proud of the strength of our alumni in achieving senior positions in the industry. Along with a rigorous program of study, our location in New Orleans offers students access to numerous part-time positions and internships. Our industry relations and liaisons in the community are very strong. Many senior executives are involved in providing guest lectures and serving as adjunct professors. As we begin another rather unique Spring Semester 2021, I want to welcome our new students and welcome our returning students, staff, faculty, and community members to both our school and our virtual classroom.
