About the Department
The Department of Management and Marketing is committed to preparing undergraduate and graduate students for careers in high-demand areas such as management, human resource management, marketing, professional selling, advertising and promotions, international management and marketing, e-commerce, and entrepreneurship through innovative classroom instruction and exposure to real-world business situations.
At the undergraduate level, students may pursue a B.S. in Management and further specialize through a concentration in Human Resource Management. We also offer minors in Management Information Systems, Management, and Entrepreneurship for students in any major. Students interested in Marketing may pursue a B.S. in Marketing. The department offers Marketing majors a concentration in Professional Selling and provides all students with an undergraduate minor in Marketing. The College of Business Administration also provides a joint study program for the Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management with the School of Management at Putian University, China. At the graduate level, M.B.A. students may pursue a Marketing, Management Information Systems, Technology Management, Human Resource Management, or Healthcare Management concentration.
Our 19 full-time faculty are engaged in scholarly research publishing in premier journals such as the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, and Psychology & Marketing. They also are actively involved with the local and regional business communities and the national and international management and marketing academic communities. The Department also utilizes a core group of professionally qualified adjuncts that bring their real-world experience into the classroom.
