The Regional Mental Health Crisis: A Public Awareness Campaign
Join us in this youth-led listening and learning exchange to hear from subject matter experts and first responders as they candidly discuss the mental health crisis confronting America. The goal of this campaign is to create, leverage and catalyze a sense of shared responsibility among the pubic and their private servants to better understand and address the mental health crisis within a framework of community well-being.

Russia's War in the Ukraine. July 28th from 5-7pm in Homer L. Hitt Alumni & Visitors CenterHosted by the Greater New Orleans Council of the Navy League in Partnership with the University of New Orleans Transportation Institute and Planning and Urban Studies.
A panel discussion on Russia's war in the Ukraine. Military experts will discuss the events to date with the apparent strategies and tactics of Russia and Ukraine with an assessment of the successes and failures.
The Navy League has decided that this event will be free and open to the public, but seating is limited.
University of New Orleans Masters of Transportation Scholarship Awarded to Brian Miles
Brian Miles is currently working on his Masters of Transportation Degree. He is an employee of the Biehl Agency and a current board member for The Coal Institute and a former member of the Mississippi Valley Trade and Transport Council and Board of Directors as well as the American Coal Council and is involved in several other industry organizations.

University of New Orleans Ph.D. Student, Chelsea Nelson in the Hudson Star-Observer
The Hudson Star-Observer highlighted research from UNO-PLUS Ph.D.-candidate Chelsea Nelson's research on homelessness in New Richmond, MN with a focus on those who are actually experiencing it. "Nelson has found that most existing data and studies on the issue does not include direct perspective from those who are homeless." The studies that do have that perspective are either small in scale or dated."

UNOTI Receives Grant Extension for Maritime Transportation Research
Researchers at the University of New Orleans Transportation Institute received a $277,500 federal grant to continue its maritime and multimodal transportation research and education conducted through the Maritime Transportation Research and Education Center (MarTREC)
UNOTI Creates Statewide Recreational Trails Plan
UNOTI has created a statewide plan to guide the Louisiana Recreational Trail Program (LRTP) on ways to encourage trail use while supporting the care of wildlife, habitats and other natural resources.
The trail plan is a national initiative that help states provide and maintain recreational trails-related facilities. Louisiana has received $1.5 million from the federal government annually since 2009 to supports its recreational trails program.
