Financial Assistance Advising

In collaboration with the Office of Academic Advising and the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships, the Academic and Financial Assistance Advisor assist students with navigating paying for college and becoming more financially literate. This includes educating students about budgeting, managing student loans, making informed financial decisions, empowering students to navigate their financial responsibilities effectively. In addition, the Academic and Financial Assistance Advisor assists students with understanding how academics affect their financial aid.

Navigating Paying for College

Financial Aid

Financial Aid is funding that helps students to pay for college. There are many types of aid including: grants, loans, work-study, and scholarships. Combining multiple sources of aid can often create a more comprehensive and manageable strategy for covering the costs of higher education.

Federal Aid

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a great resource to help students pay for college.

Get ready Privateers, A Better FAFSA is on the way! The 2024 - 2025 FAFSA will be available by December 31st. Learn how to get prepared by watching the video below!

Scholarships

Searching for scholarships takes time and effort but the benefits far outweigh the time sacrifice. Scholarships can help to reduce the amount of debt you take on, close the gap your federal & state aid does not cover and helps to lessen the stress of working while studying. Here are some resources to get you started on your search:
