How to Request Accommodations
The University of New Orleans (UNO) is committed to providing for the needs of enrolled or admitted students who have disabilities under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA).
In general, University policy calls for reasonable accommodations to be made for students with documented disabilities on an individualized and flexible basis. It is the responsibility of students, however, to seek available assistance at the University and to make their needs known.
The form found here Disability Documentation Packet (pdf) will guide you, or the professional who made your diagnosis, in determining the appropriate documentation to submit to our office. This form is to be completed by the diagnosiing professional, not the student.
If you have a disability and will require academic accommodations while enrolled at UNO, you will need to self-identify to the Office of Disability Services (ODS), submit disability-related documentation, and set an appointment with a staff member to discuss accommodations and the accommodation process.
