Orientation & Benefits enrollment
Employees eligible for benefits have 30 calendar days from the date of hire to complete enrollment documents and submit them to the Benefits Staff in Workday. Therefore, as a new employee, you are encouraged to attend New Employee Orientation within two weeks of your start date. New Employee Orientation will provide you with information on UNO, employee benefits, retirement plans and a variety of campus resources.
All new employees who are benefit eligible will receive a benefit life event in their Workday inbox. Please log into Workday via myapps.uno.edu using your UNO email address and password. For more information about UNO email address click here.
If you are adding a spouse or dependent to any of the insurances below, please also submit a copy of their social security card, birth certificate (children) or marriage license (spouse) with the enrollment forms in Workday.
It is recommended that you print and save a copy of the benefits statement for your own records at the end of the Workday benefits enrollment submission.
Original signed copies of beneficiary forms for TRSL and LASERS should be sent to UNO Benefits in Administration Building Room 214. (hand delivered, campus mail, or regular mail)
Direct Transfers: Employees transferring directly from another Louisiana State agency that offers OGB products will remain in the same OGB plans that they were previously enrolled in. The employee will need to log into Workday using their UNO email and complete the Workday benefit election inbox item, selecting their same OGB plan they were previously enrolled in.
UNO offers supplemental insurances (dental, vision, life, disability, etc.) different from other state agencies. You may contact the vendor at your previous agency to find out if you can continue to pay them directly and keep the plan or choose one of UNO vendors for supplemental insurances.
Enrollment forms not in Workday are listed below.
Please email these to hrmbenefits@uno.edu if you wish to enroll.
