Dr. Yizhi "Ian" Li, is an Assistant Professor of hospitality and tourism at the University of New Orleans. Prior to joining the University of New Orleans, Dr. Li was a post-doctoral fellow of diversity management in the Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Sciences at Texas A&M University. He earned a Ph.D. in Consumer Sciences from The Ohio State University, an M.S. in Hospitality Management from Michigan State University, and a B.S. in Tourism Administration from Donghua University, China. He has also worked for Marriott International and The Walt Disney Company.
His research explores the role of gender and sexuality of both employees and consumers in hospitality and tourism intersecting with service management and experiential marketing. Dr. Li's work has been featured in peer-reviewed journal publications, including Tourism Management, the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, and the International Journal of Hospitality Management.
