Student Achievements
Our undergraduate students have been remarkably successful upon graduation, and many have gone on to some of the top graduate programs in law, philosophy, and political science. Although we do not define success merely by the graduate programs our students attend, the list below provides a good idea of the various paths our students have taken.
Jeffrey Bagwell received his BA from the University of New Orleans in spring 2015, where he majored in philosophy. In fall 2015, he will begin pursuing a Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Gaetano Venezia received his BA from the University of New Orleans in spring 2015, where he majored in philosophy. During his time at UNO he received the Philosophy Department's Edward R. Johnson Award (top junior major) and Faculty Award (top senior major), the UNO Honors Program Jace Michael Plaisance Award (top honors student), and the College of Liberal Arts Dean's Award (top graduating senior). He was accepted int the MA program in philosophy at Georgia State University, where he will begin in fall 2015.
Scott Meiner received his BA from the University of New Orleans in fall 2014, where he majored in philosophy. In fall 2015, he will begin pursuing a JD at the University of Missouri (Columbia).
F. Richard Sprinkle received his BA from the University of New Orleans in spring 2014, where he majored in philosophy. He is currently pursuing a JD at LSU.
James Reed received his BA from the University of New Orleans in fall 2013, where he majored in philosophy. He is currently pursuing a MA in philosophy at Ohio University. In 2015, he won his program's received his program's Idus Murphree Award for "Most Outstanding 1st Year Grad Student."
Victoria Kane received her BA from Tulane University in spring 2013, where she majored in philosophy, and MA in philosophy from Tufts University in 2015. In 2015-2016, she will be spending a year in China working for an education consulting company.
Alexandra Liopiros received her BA from Tulane University in spring 2013, where she majored in art history and philosophy. Upon graduating, she started work as a corporate paralegal in the Washington, DC office of Latham & Watkins LLP. She currently works in the Office of the Secretary and General Counsel at the National Gallery of Art.
Kelly Martin received her BA from Tulane University in spring 2012, where she majored in philosophy, and MA in philosophy from Tulane University in 2013. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. in philosophy at Tulane University.
Gabrielle Stanton received her BA from Tulane University in spring 2012, where she majored in philosophy, and MA in liberal arts from St. John’s College (MD). She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in philosophy at Tulane University.
Christopher Clark received his BA from Tulane University in spring 2011, where he majored in English and political science, and MPhil in development studies from St. John’s College at the University of Cambridge (UK) in 2014. In 2012, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to travel to Chile and study the effects of microfinance and microlending on economic development.
Taylor Hauck received her BS from Tulane University in spring 2011, where she majored in economics and East Asian studies, and JD from Stanford’s Law School in 2014, where she served as an assistant editor of the Stanford Law and Policy Review. Upon graduation, she accepted a position as an associate in the law firm of Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP in Chicago.
Jeffrey Silberman received his BA from Tulane University in spring 2011, where he majored in philosophy, and JD from New York University’s School of Law in 2014, where he served as an associate editor on the Journal of Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law. Upon graduation, she accepted a position as an associate in the law firm of Lowenstein Sandler in New York City.
