Organization and Chapter History
Founded in 1869 at the University of Virginia, the Kappa Sigma Fraternity is currently one of the largest men's college organizations in North America, having initiated more than 245,000 members. With more then 250 undergraduate and alumni chapters throughout the U.S. and Canada, the Fraternity teaches its core standards and values through educational programming related to the four cornerstones: Fellowship, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service.
Kappa Sigma was colonized at the University of New Orleans in the Spring of 2007. Chapter status was obtained in the Spring of 2010. We are currently seeking the best and brightest young men who want to be part of something new and great. Those who take this challenge and succeed will be rewarded with membership in the Rho- Theta Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
Purpose
Kappa Sigma is focused upon the Four Pillars of Fellowship, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service. As a values-based men’s fraternity, Kappa Sigma strictly forbids hazing and fosters meaningful college experiences by offering progressive membership development and pledge education.

Enrolled Undergraduate and Graduate Students
Membership Requirements:
A bid must be offered to a student with at least a 2.50 GPA.
