Organization and Chapter History
Phi Kappa Sigma was founded October 19th, 1850 at the University of Pennsylvania by 7 young men. The visionary, Dr. Mitchell, held the belief that college men had an obligation to better themselves, their community, and their country. These beliefs still hold true, as Phi Kappa Sigma is dedicated to producing men who are well rounded individuals, and reach their highest potential imaginable.
Phi Kappa Sigma is the most diverse IFC fraternity in the country by roughly 20% according to data collected by BeingPlaid, Inc. The organization prides itself on inclusivity, progress, and collective approach. Phi Kap is defined by its members, not the other way around.
The Beta Xi chapter at UNO holds this commitment true since its refounding in 2015, always seeking out the next generation of men looking to create a legacy on campus for the next generation of Privateers and Phi Kap men.
Phi Kappa Sigma is looking for men who want the opportunity to become a Leader, a Gentleman, a Brother, and a Scholar.
