Campus communication - Nov. 2, 2018
Dear Colleagues,
After a detailed review process, the University has selected Workday to replace PeopleSoft as our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform. We began exploring other ERP options more than a year ago when we learned that the current PeopleSoft system would not be supported in the future.
Earlier this week, we signed a collaborative contract with Southeastern and Louisiana Tech. All three universities will deploy this new cloud-based ERP together. There are several significant benefits to this approach. The three institutions will share in anticipated savings of nearly $13 million over the next 10 years, while moving to a cutting-edge platform that is more sophisticated with a superior user experience.
This is an exciting change for us and will fundamentally alter how we operate. The plan is to go live with Workday’s HR/Payroll and Financials functions in July 2019. The student components to the ERP will be phased in the following year. We are developing a collaborative structure among the three institutions, which will lead to an ERP leadership team here at our institution.
You will hear much more about the move to Workday in the coming months. As with any big change, there will be new challenges and adjustments, but I am confident that this will make our university a more modern and efficient enterprise.
UNO Proud,
John Nicklow
