September 24, 2019- Email from the Office of the President
Dear Colleagues,
As we begin the new academic year, I want to provide you with an update on the progress of the Workday project. For those new employees who may be unaware, the University is moving to Workday, a new Enterprise Resource Planning platform that will replace the current PeopleSoft system. We are migrating to the platform along with two other University of Louisiana System institutions: Southeastern and Louisiana Tech. We have made tremendous strides as we work toward our July 2020 go-live date. The result will be a cutting-edge, cloud-based platform with a user experience that is far superior to our current system.
The Workday team has completed three of the five key phases of implementation: plan, architect, and configure & prototype. We have begun the test phase of the project and, once that is complete, we will deploy the new platform. Please look out for announcements in the spring semester about open trainings for users. Making sure our employees are comfortable using the platform is an essential part of the implementation. For a brief overview video of the project, visit UNO’s Workday web page.
Thank you to all of you who have been so crucial to our progress.
UNO Proud,
John Nicklow
President
