Spring 2025 Bursar’s Office and Financial Aid FAQs
-
How do I read my fee bill?
Go to your Workday account, click “menu,” then click “finances.” Looking at account activity under the finance page, the “total account balance” is the total cost of your tuition and fees for the semester. The “due now” amount is the portion of the fee bill you are responsible for paying now, after scholarships, aid, or other payments. If your due now balance is zero, that means you have paid your tuition or you have aid that is going to cover the balance. If you click “view statement” you can see an itemized list of tuition and fees, when they were posted and when they are due.
-
I have a past due balance and can't register. What can I do?
If you can get your past due balance down to $1,000 or below, your registration hold will be lifted so you can register.
-
Why do I have a hold on my account?
You can have a hold for new student onboarding tasks, past due balances, advising holds, etc. Select “Academics” from the menu. “My Holds” will be displayed in the center of the screen with description and resolution instructions.
-
What happens if I miss a payment deadline?
If you miss a payment deadline, a $150 late fee will be assessed on your account.
-
What if I have anticipated payments coming in the form of scholarships, grants, loans, etc., and they are not showing up in my account?
Students who have anticipated payments should rest assured that those payments will be applied to their account once the University receives them. Students will not be withdrawn from classes while they await those payments.
-
How do I sign up for a payment plan?
All students can enroll in an extended payment plan option. This splits the payments into four payments for the semester. For more information, visit: Payments | The University of New Orleans.
-
How do I opt in/out of Follett?
You can find the information here: uno.edu/follett-access. You must do this by the deadlines listed in the form. You have until 1/12/25 to opt out of the Follett ACCESS Program for Spring 2025 and until 1/18/25 to opt back into the program. Fees being refunded on your UNO account will not take place until after the add/drop date for each semester. Reminder – you are opting out or back in for your entire semester schedule. You cannot opt out and opt in of individual courses.
-
I opted out of Follett but I still have the fee on my account. What do I do?
Please subtract the Follett amount from your due now balance to find out your correct total. You can pay the tuition amount minus the Follett fee as a partial payment in the payment screen. The fee will be removed from your account.
-
Why am I being charged a non-resident fee? How do I change my residency status?
Applications for reclassification to resident status must be filed by the 14th calendar day after classes begin to allow changes to be reflected on the fee bill. Applicants filing immediately prior to registration or up to the 14th day must be prepared to pay the non-resident fee and wait to be refunded if the application is approved. The appeal form is located here.

How do I view my 1098-t?
In Workday, go to “menu,” “finances” and on the right-hand side, under “my account,” you can find the view/print 1098-t link. Please note that tax documents are generally available around the 3rd week of January. Please make sure you've consented to an electronic 1098-t (pg. 5 in the New Student Onboarding guide)
