Healthcare Management
The Healthcare Management program, located in the Henry Bernstein College of Business Administration, works with local healthcare organizations, particularly those that meet the needs of communities with limited access to care and resources. Fundable projects focusing on social determinants of health could include taking a more targeted approach to identifying gaps for those at-risk communities. The aim would be to develop solutions that could include creating deliverables to improve the quality of life and life expectancy in those at-risk communities. Deliverables could include examining and implementing ways to increase a community's walkability, passive safety and security monitoring, a bike helmet program, teaching basic first aid to include stop the bleed and providing tourniquets in first aid kits, increasing access to smoking cessation and substance abuse programs, working with community stores to stock fresh fruits and vegetables, and taking EBT payment for healthy options.
