Disaster Mitigation and Management
The ongoing work of UNO-CHART (Center for Hazards Assessment, Response and Technology) complements the University’s commitment to coastal resilience, as well as the need to develop innovative approaches to the management of factors threatening the local environment and ecosystem. Faculty and students contributing to CHART are regularly called upon for their expertise in reducing risk and managing disasters. Additional funding for this work will allow for the expansion of the research program of CHART and the support of additional graduate students whose contributions to CHART will advance the mission of the unit, preparing them to enter the marketplace with a skillset directly responsive to the needs of our region.
